Am I Eligible?

You may apply for coverage if you live in Oregon and are enrolled in Medicare Part B. This includes individuals who may be under age 65 and are enrolled in Medicare by reason of disability.

When Does Coverage Begin?

If you apply during an open enrollment period (six months of becoming eligible for Part B), your coverage will start the first of the month following the date we receive your application. If you do not apply during an open enrollment period, we will notify you of the date coverage will begin after your application is approved.

Is there a Waiting Period?

If you transfer directly to an ODS SeniorSelect plan from a Medicare HMO, a Medicare supplemental policy, or other coverage, we will credit month for month the amount of time you were enrolled under one of those plans. If you were enrolled for six or more months, you will not have a six-month waiting period.

Can I see the doctor(s) I want if I enroll in an ODS SeniorSelect Medicare Supplement plan?

As a member of an ODS SeniorSelect Medicare Supplement plan, you are free to choose any licensed doctor or provider for your healthcare needs.

Should you seek care from a doctor or provider who has not accepted Medicare assignment, you will be responsible for paying the difference between what Medicare pays and the maximum amount the doctor or provider can charge Medicare patients for covered services. However, using Medicare assigned doctors and providers can reduce those out-of-pocket expenses.

Are there prescription benefits available in my ODS SeniorSelect Medicare Supplement plan?

At this time, ODS' SeniorSelect Medicare Supplement plans do not offer benefits for prescription drugs. However, we do offer the ODS Advantage Rx as a rider option for those who wish to add prescription drug coverage to their medicare supplement plan.

Are there dental benefits available in my ODS SeniorSelect Medicare Supplement plan?

ODS provides new SeniorSelect Medicare Supplement plan members the opportunity to enroll in the SeniorSelect Dental Plan. The only time to select this coverage is upon initial enrollment in a Medicare Supplement plan. There is no opportunity to add the dental later or reinstate it should it be cancelled.

If the treatment is for an accidental injury, include a statement explaining the date, time, place, and circumstances of the accident when you send us the physician or professional provider's bill.
