Important HIPAA Dates
National Provider Identifier (NPI)

In April, the centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued Guidance on compliance with the National Provider Identifier. As part of that Guidance, all participants in healthcare — payers, providers and clearinghouses — were advised to work together to make the use of this identifier a reality.
